Script Supervising GOOD OMENS

Updated: Apr 5, 2021

Good Omens, written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, has just been adapted by the BBC and Amazon to the screen as a TV series directed by Douglas Mackinnon.

This has been an amazing experience for me personal and professionally when assisting the fantastic Script Supervisor (and human being!) Jemima Thomas.

The work consisted of making note of the camera set ups on days where there were three or more cameras on set. Keeping the lined script up to date and double checking that all the information necessary is on the continuity sheets and slate log.

These tasks make it imperative that you build a good relationship with the 1st and 2nd AC’s as you need their help throughout the day. Lucky for me, the camera teams in Good Omens were a delight!

The long run job was also quite nice. Whereas some people in the industry have a tough time with long jobs, for me it felt very much like a family, a comfortable place to be, with a great script. Couldn't be luckier.

I also got to meet people who are extraordinary at their job in every single department. Learning what is involved in such a complex shoot, in the prep, scheduling and what skills matter the most was vital information at this stage in my career.

The below clip increases the thirst for watching the final result which I'm sure will be as amazing as shooting it!
